Yep. That’s me. I’m Sylvia Howes, a northern Nevada-based artist and you’ve managed to find (either by my forceful hand or chance) my little corner here on the internet.

I wasn’t always this sassy. Or this cute. I went to college, majored in finance, worked 9-to-5 in a suit for many years. I managed to raise two little gremlins and send them on their way in the world. And then a couple of years ago I found myself out of work and bored.

I decide to take an art class at my local college to give me something to do. I found myself at last. I was fortunate to have a teacher that taught me to express myself and not fear failure. Whenever I wanted to quit or came up against a brick wall, he would say to stick with it and work through it. Those words ring true today. I will forever be grateful to that teacher.

I will continue on this journey for the rest of my life. As long as I have the desire to express myself through art I will continue to work. Nothing gives me more happiness and satisfaction than when I am creating.
